Role of MakeMyRyde

1. MakeMyRyde is an online technology platform that enables users to book taxis by connecting them with independent third-party cab operators and individual drivers.

2. We do not own, operate, or control any taxis or transportation services. All transportation services are provided solely by third-party providers.

3. The booking made by a user through MakeMyRyde is a contract between the User and the respective Cab Operator or Driver.

4. MakeMyRyde’s role is limited to facilitating this connection and managing the online booking process.

Driver and Vehicle Responsibility

It is the sole responsibility of the Cab Operator or Driver to ensure that:

• They hold valid driving licences, vehicle permits, and insurance as per Indian laws.
• Their vehicles are properly maintained and roadworthy.
• They comply with all applicable safety, transport, and traffic regulations.

MakeMyRyde does not verify or guarantee the validity, renewal, or compliance of such documents after onboarding.

All liabilities, including for accidents, injuries, damages, or deaths, rest solely with the cab operator or driver providing the service.

Passenger and Driver Verification Rights

For safety and transparency:

• Passengers have the right to request the driver’s name, photograph, vehicle registration number, and driving licence before travel.
• Drivers may request a valid photo ID from passengers for security purposes.
• If either party is not satisfied with any document or identification, they may cancel the trip before it begins.
• In such cases, any advance payment will be refunded within 72 hours after verification.

Limitation of Liability

MakeMyRyde shall not be liable for:

• Any accident, injury, death, or loss during travel.
• Any delay, breakdown, negligence, or misconduct by a driver.
• Loss or damage to personal belongings.
• Unavailability, inaccuracy, or interruption of services on our platform.

MakeMyRyde does not provide any insurance for passengers or vehicles.

All insurance and compensation claims must be directed to the respective Cab Operator, Driver, or their insurer.

In the event of a breakdown or accident where the cab operator cannot continue the trip and no replacement vehicle is provided, MakemyRyde may issue a proportionate refund for the unused portion of the trip. Any further legal or financial liability lies entirely with the operator.

Cancellation and Returns

You may cancel the booking 24 hours prior to the time of journey, without any cancellation charges for all services.

In case cancellation or shortening of the trip is requested within 24 hours of the pick-up time, the following rules will apply:

• Multi-Day Trip: The charge for the first day would be deducted from the total amount and the remaining refund will be issued to the user.
• Single Day Trip / Airport Transfer: No refund will be issued to the user.
• Airport Transfer: No cancellation charges if cancelled at least 2 hours prior to pickup time.

In cases where the trip is cancelled due to safety or document verification concerns before starting, MakeMyRyde will process a full refund within 72 hours.

Refunds

If you are eligible for refunds based on the Cancellation and Returns policy above, the refund will be remitted back to you within 5–7 working days.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
